Nick is President of CohnReznick Capital and is based in the New York office. Nick primarily focuses on M&A buy-side and sell-side and raising, structuring and negotiating tax equity investments. He has a core focus on utility scale wind and solar projects. He has also advised on financings for distributed generation and solar panel and solar cell manufacturing facilities. Nick has served as lead financial advisor on more than 30 structured equity and lease transaction closings in the renewable energy industry, with projects ranging in size from 5MW to 500MW.
Nick has recently lead the closings of an acquisition and tax equity financing for a 300 MW wind farm, a portfolio sale of the cash interest portion of tax equity interests and residual ownership in several wind farms, and several solar distributed generation transactions with first time ITC Investors. Nick is currently working on follow on opportunities of identical nature to the aforementioned transactions. His clients for these engagements are primarily the leading tax equity banks and private equity sponsors.
Nick has developed into the leading market advisor on the sale of tax equity positions in aged operating wind and solar portfolios. With execution experience on several sale structures and the leading tax equity banks as clients he is at the forefront of this trade activity and is uniquely positioned with appropriate structuring, accounting, power and capital markets’ expertise.
Prior to CohnReznick Capital, Nick was a Transaction Advisor in the Structured Finance Group at GE Energy Financial Services, focusing primarily on renewable energy investments in the United States, Europe, Canada and Japan. Prior to joining GE EFS, Nick worked in the Transaction Services Advisory practice at KPMG’s New York office. At KPMG he focused on providing clients with a comprehensive business due diligence package in the renewable energy and real estate industries. Along with due diligence services, Nick offered his clients an expertise in transaction accounting, tax and financial modeling.
Nick has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Hartwick College and he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
